Tweezing eyeborws (properly) is very important for me because it makes my eyes look more prominent. I love the professional tweezing service in salon, but I cannot go there very often. Sometime, I just need to tweeze the eyebrows at home.

There are 3 types of ordinary tweezer, which differentiate by the shape of their ends. You may find slant tweezer, point tweezer and slant/point combination tweezer.

How to Choose the Best Tweezer

Material

Choose one that is made of stainless steel. Rusting on the tweezer may infect your hair follicles. Make sure the material is not irritating.

Length and Design

The best tweezer is around 8cm. It should be ergonomic so you can tweeze your brows comfortably.

Shape

Both slant and point tweezers are good to use at home. But, slant one is slightly better because it is easy to use and shape your brows. Point tweezer is usually use for ingrown and very fine hair. Do not choose round or flat ends because they are difficult to tweeze eyebrows accurately. You may tweeze several pieces of eyebrows at the same time which you do not wish to. But, they may be suitable for beginners because they are safer.

How to Use a Tweezer

Clamp the root of a piece of eyebrow, then hold and pull. Make sure you pull in the direction that the eyeborws grow as shown in the picture. Pull it quickly so that you experience less pain. If you are too sensitive to pain, you may apply moisturizer to your eyeborw. Tweeze after 15 minutes. Cool your eyebrow with a ice cooling pad after tweezing.

How to Store a Tweezer

The 3 brands of false eyelashes that I really want to recommend are not all from expensive brands. I think false eyelashes should be both high quality and affordable. Though false eyelashes from Shu Uemura and other famous brands have high quality, they are quite expensive actually. I have used false eyelashes from 2 Japanese brands which are very good. They have a lot of different fancy designs. But, it is a bit difficult to buy in the States. You may find it at eBay.

False eyelashes available are usually from Japanese brands or western brands (Euro and American. Western brand usually have fuller lashes and are more suitable for those having sharp eye contour or wearing heavy makeup. Japanese brands (usually made in Taiwan) look more natural and are more suitable for those having Asian eyes.

Price is not a criteria to determine the quality of false eyelashes. The band is the most important area to look at. No matter it is black or transparent, thick or thin, it should be soft and flexible.

If you are not good at keeping your false eyelashes, you may choose those non-reusable ones. They are more affordable for you. If you are good at keeping false eyelashes, you may choose expensive and reusable ones.

I suggest full false eyelashes strips for prominent and sharp effect. Individual lashes may be used in combination with full strip.

Why I Love It

This eyelid tape is sticky at both sides, so it is easier to make a perfect double eyelid. Each piece of eyelid tape is 2.4cm long just suits my eye without further trimming and cutting. It is translucent and matte, so it is invisible after applying to eyelid.
