The 3 brands of false eyelashes that I really want to recommend are not all from expensive brands. I think false eyelashes should be both high quality and affordable. Though false eyelashes from Shu Uemura and other famous brands have high quality, they are quite expensive actually. I have used false eyelashes from 2 Japanese brands which are very good. They have a lot of different fancy designs. But, it is a bit difficult to buy in the States. You may find it at eBay.

How to choose the Best False Eyelashes

False eyelashes available are usually from Japanese brands or western brands (Euro and American. Western brand usually have fuller lashes and are more suitable for those having sharp eye contour or wearing heavy makeup. Japanese brands (usually made in Taiwan) look more natural and are more suitable for those having Asian eyes.

Price is not a criteria to determine the quality of false eyelashes. The band is the most important area to look at. No matter it is black or transparent, thick or thin, it should be soft and flexible.

If you are not good at keeping your false eyelashes, you may choose those non-reusable ones. They are more affordable for you. If you are good at keeping false eyelashes, you may choose expensive and reusable ones.

What is Eyelash Implant?
Eyelash implant is a form of cosmetic surgery which gives you permanently long eyelashes. This technique is originally used for those who have eyelash defects or eyelash burns.

How Eyelash Implant is done?
As this is a cosmetic surgery, it should only be done by doctor instead of beauty technicians. The whole process is done under local anesthetic and therefore it does not create much pain. The whole process roughly takes around 3 hours.

Eyelashes implant is actually done by transplanting the hair follicles from scalp to your eye lid. Around 40 to 50 active hair follicles are taken from scalp each time. All the hair follicles are separated into individual follicle and implant to the eye lid one by one carefully. Many of my friends asked me if false eyelashes are reusable. Well, yes, most of the false eyelashes are reusable for 5-8 times, so do not throw them away when you have used them once. But you cannot just take them off from your eyelid and then expect to use them again the next time. To keep your false eyelashes reusable (save money) and beautiful, you must know how to clean them properly. I clean my false eyelashes every time after use, you may try to do it as well!

Normally, what have stayed on your fake eyelashes after using are eyelash glue, mascara, eye shadow and of course germs. You have clean them all off from your false eyelashes.

How to Clean False Eyelashes Properly

Step 1:

Use cotton bud with eye-makeup remover to clean all the mascara, eye shadow, and eyelash glue off your false eyelashes. You may choose to use other makeup remover instead of the eye one, but preferably the non-oily one.

Step 2:

Put the false eyelashes into lukewarm water and soak them for a while (around 20 minutes). Take them out and you can find the eyelash glue if not removed in step 1, easily to be removed by using a cotton bud to pull slightly on the false eyelashes base. Lukewarm water is the best, please be careful not to use hot water as the hot water can make the false eyelashes hard.

Step 3:

Put them on the paper towel and let them dry up a bit. Use the cotton bud to dip a little bit of alcohol or other sterilizing liquid, slightly and gently clean the false eyelashes and especially the false eyelashes base.

Step 4:

Wait until they false eyelashes are completely dry, then take them back to the box for storage before you use them next time.

I found a lot of sites and videos teaching how to apply false eyelashes, but not many for trimming false eyelashes. Actually, if you wish to look natural with your false eyelashes, you need to know how to trim them. Trimming is always required for the false eyelashes you bought from the stores as they simply look “perfect”. Perfect eyelashes are good but make you look unnatural……I hope the following steps are easy to follow and you can learn to trim your”Perfect” false eyelashes!

How to Trim False Eyelashes Properly

Step 1: Take Them Out

Take out the false eyelashes from the box carefully. You can take them out with your finger or with the help of the tweezers. Try to peel them from the box from the outer corner end where you usually have the trimming instead of the inner corner end.

Step 2: Trim the Width

Look into the mirror, bring the right/left false eyelashes close your right/left eye, and determine the width that you want. It is best to have 2-3mm longer than your eye length. When you have decided, trim off the excess part only from the outer corner end.

Tips: Trim the fake eyelashes a bit only at a time then bring them close to your eye again to see if further trimming is required.

Tips: You may have to take into consideration that you have to leave 1mm at the inner end not being applied with false eyelashes to make it more natural for the decision of the width of you false eyelashes.

Step 3: Repeat what you have done in step 2 for the other eye

It is important to repeat step 2 for the other eye instead of trimming the other false eyelashes at the same width of the previous one as there can be a very slight difference between your left and right eyes. Do not under estimate the effect that the slight difference of your eye can have on your whole make-up and looking!

Step 4: Trim the length

You can also trim the length according to your own preference. Normally, it is optional for you to trim the length or thickness, but it is true that if you trim them a bit, they look more natural on you eyes.

False eyelashes is one of my favourite cosmetics because they make my eyes look bigger and more beautiful. If your eyelashes are short, pale or thin eyelashes, you must learn how to apply false eyelashes. False eyelashes help create a very different look which mascara cannot. Besides, they are less expensive and safer compared to implantation of eyelashes and eyelashes perm. False eyelashes allow minimal damages to your delicate eyelashes while giving you the best effect.

How to Apply False Eyelashes Like a Professional

Step 1: Clean your eyes thoroughly before you have actually done anything on you eyelashes. If you have oil or other make-up debris on your eyelid or upper lashline, it will be difficult to allow the eyelash glue to work well.

Step 2: Curl your real eyelashes with an eyelash curler. If you find that your real eyelashes actually grow unevenly or hard, you may wish to curl them for several times. Make sure your real eyelashes are really curly, so that they look really natural when you have applied you false eyelashes on.

Step 3: Take your fake eyelashes out carefully with your fingers. Hold the two ends of the false eyelashes and bend them for around 10 times to make them soft and look more natural.

Step 4: Most of false eyelashes that you can buy from stores are simply too long. Place the false eyelashes on your eyelid and measure the length that you need. Trim the false eyelashes with respect to the length of you own eyes.

Tips: Trimming them to the length 2-3mm longer than you actual eye length gives you the best effect.

Step 5: Apply a thin layer of eyelash glue to base of the false eyelashes. (Please do not try to apply the glue directly onto your eyelid!) I personally prefer brush-on eyelash glue as it is easier to control the amount. You may use a toothpick to help if you are using the squeezing the eyelash glue.

Tips: You may wish to apply a liitle bit more on the two ends of the false eyelashes as they may fall easily from you eyelid.

Tips: You can at this point bend the fake eyelashes a little bit more (again) to make it softer.

Step 6: Now you need the help with the mirror! Bring the false eyelashes to your lashline as close as possible, and then first apply middle part of false eyelashes to your upper lash line, then the end (outer corner of your eyes) and finally inner eye corner. Press and hold a little bit during the applying.

Tips: If you find the two ends fall, you can use toothpick to help apply more glue onto the false eyelashes.

Step 6: If you are new to false eyelashes, you may cut the false eyelashes into 3 pieces. Apply piece by piece.

Look into the mirror again and adjust a bit the false eyelashes to make them look good and natural just before the glue has completely dried up.

Tips: It is best to have your mirror at your eye level and fix your elbow joint on the table.

Step 7: Finally, hold the eyelashes (especially the two ends) for a little longer (around 30 seconds) when the false eyelashes have been finished applying.

Step 7: To embellish you false eyelashes, you may wish to curl your false eyelashes and your real eyelashes together at the same time, apply your eyeliner and even mascara (optional).

Use your hands to hold the false eyelashes for around 30 seconds (depends on your type of eyelash glud) after you have just applied.
If you find the ends falling, that means the glue is not enough, you can use the toothpick to dip some glue and apply them onto the ends, then apply the false eyelashes again.
We normally do not have eyelasehes grown at the inner corner, when applying the false eyelashes, leave 1mm space for the inner corner.

REMEMBER! The glue works best when it is nearly dry and if you apply the false eyelasehes at this right time, the glue is colorless and that gives you the best effect. If you apply the eyelashes too early before the glue is nearly dry, it is very difficult to get the false eyelashes sticked to the upper lashline. When you repeat the procedures again several times as the eyelashes fall, the glue can become white, and then you must put on your eyeliner to cover.
